Biography.
Joshua Pinches (b. 2003) is a London-based Designer with an ethically conscious, playful, and contemporary approach to design.
He is currently studying for a BA (Hons) in Product & Furniture Design at Kingston School of Art, with graduation expected in 2026.
Creativity has always been Josh’s primary form of self-expression. At 16, he crafted his first functioning furniture piece transforming a broken bed frame into a garden bench, which sparked his passion for design that continues to shape his professional path. Since then, he has deepened his skills while sharing the knowledge that enriches his work and everyday life.
In 2024, Josh exhibited his project OMFORMA at Clerkenwell Design Week, showcasing his work alongside fellow Kingston students. He is currently undertaking a placement year, gaining hands-on experience through internships with Bee9 Design and Piet Hein Eek, where he's developing his skills in storytelling, manufacturing processes, and studio practice.
My Mission.
Josh’s mission is to make design education more accessible, fun, and empowering, helping people use creativity as a tool for self-expression, problem-solving, and positive change in everyday life.
Rooted in his journey with dyslexia and the challenges of traditional learning, Josh has utilised the ways design and creativity can build confidence, foster independence, and create meaningful connections.
He is passionate about using DIY culture, sustainable thinking, and education to bridge the gap between knowledge and action giving individuals the tools to shape their world in their own way.
Josh designs for the curious, and for future generations to pass down an ethical mindset into their first homes through a personal, playful, and purposeful approach to creativity.
Through content, tools, and community, Josh is here to offer experiences that are approachable and inspiring.
